Guest guest
Liz I'll try and put you out of your misery a touch regarding Wayne (Newman!!!). Wayne has his own website, you can check it out at www.waynesmith.net Quite frankly, Wayne was/is a pain in the arse. He was self appointed gatekeeper/moderator of the Bandsters mailing list, a self appointed Counsellor (whether you wanted Counselling or not) offered a shoulder to cry on (whether you wanted one or not) and was the ultimate authority on every single subject on earth (whether invented or yet to be invented). Wayne had something to say about every single email posted on the list. And he would go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about things. One day he posted an email about how annoying it was to have to read about all the emails about the forthcoming Melbourne Meetings and subsequent emails following the Melbourne meetings. A little while ago we tried to get an Australian Conference of Ozbanders off the ground. For a shit stir we posted an email saying we could possibly invite Wayne out to Australia to attend and how exciting it would be (he probably believed it). I don't know if you've picked up the vibes I'm sending out but I didn't really like Wayne all that much. You guys can probably tell I had a (rare) slow day at the office today. I wonder if you can guess how I've kept myself amused today. Regards Aldo.
Guest guest
Thanks Aldo. I am pretty sure you are not Crusoe in your assessment of the beloved Wayne. You know he was eventually kicked off the main Bandsters list and started up his own on smart-chat. I'm glad you are enjoying the quiet time.... Guest guest
Liz, Wasn't aware that Wayne (Newman!!!) had formed his own group. He treated the old list as if he was the owner of it. Aldo. Guest guest
A lot of people, myself included have received nothing but support from Wayne . I located the original Bandsters list due to a post Wayne had put on another Obesity Surgery Support Group list. It was immediately after I was banded and I was experiencing problems and I got support and information at a time when I needed it most. I agree Wayne may have his idiosyncrasies (but don't we all?). Many many US bandsters regard him in almost a Saintlike fashion, he meets and transports hordes of pre- and post- op bandsters across the border into and out of Mexico and he is forever giving support to anyone that asks. Wayne's list is bandsters@... Why bash someone behind their back??
