Is he young enough to eat baby foods from a jar? My 6 yr old still likes some of the fruit combos like pear and blueberry. Also apple sauce - you can get it in tubes now and freeze them for a sort of fruit pop. Or popsicles? The cold might help his mouth feel better, too. Guest guest
He’s old for baby food, but some pureed veggies in chicken broth might work. Thanks. Laurie lbilyeu@... Guest guest
I just wanted to say I hope he feels better really soon, that is aweful. Are the sores part of his Celiac symptoms? (totally out of curiosity) Protein is a huge issue here, I've been fortunate enough to be able to use soy protein isolate. They also make whey protein isolate. And both of those are out for your little guy. Spirulina might be worth researching. It's an alga noted for excellent health benefits. It was actually featured on one of those travel food shows recently. Mashed Sweet Potatos, sweet potatos are loaded with nutrition. Ray had a recipe for mashed califlower, it may work for a GFCF etc diet. It was with Mini Meatloafs which I altered to be GF and they are sooo yummy (for when he feels better). ~Rejoyce VA
Guest guest
Thanks Rejoyce, I thought the sores were gluten related, and he might have gotten some somehow that I missed. But I haven’t found it. There is a rice protein out there as I recall that would work for his smoothies. I’ll look today. I made cucumber “soup” this morning for him—he’ll have it later. I think I’ll try split pea soup also. If it’s thin enough he might eat it alright. Laurie lbilyeu@...
