Guest guest
My 5-month old daughter got her DOC band yesterday morning, and I've been monitoring her every 3 hours for dark red spots that don't fade within an hour after removing the band. Everything has gone well, and she hasn't seem bothered by it, but I just noticed a dark red spot near the bottom of the back of her head that isn't fading. Of course I've noticed this after CT is already closed for the day. I'm not going to put her back in the band tonight so that I can call them in the morning, but does anyone know if I should be concerned about the red spot? Does CT do anything to the child to relieve the pressure, or do they just adjust the band when something like this happens?? Thanks so much! I'm freaking out a little bit because I've realized that I have no one to call until the morning:(
Guest guest
keeping the band off is the right thing to do. They'll most likely shave away a little of the foam in this area to relieve the pressure. -christine sydney 2 yrs starband grad > > My 5-month old daughter got her DOC band yesterday morning, and I've > been monitoring her every 3 hours for dark red spots that don't fade > within an hour after removing the band. Guest guest
I'm late in responding, but definitely keep the band off. My daughter had a dark red spot in the same spot and we left the band off and called CT in the morning. They said we had done the right thing. FYI -- if it's really dark red, it may take multiple shavings before it completely goes away. It took three shavings and a week and a half for ours.
