My son did not require a cat scan at all prior to banding. We noticed the plagio, went to a neurologist for a script. On to Cranial Tech for a banding appointment and we had our band. Why the cat scan at all, it sounds weird to me. Not many others have mentioned this if any that I can recall. Good luck but check if that is necessary. Tammy

Well My son didnt need a scan but we went last friday to get his

banding done but with cranial tech they arent doing castings anymore

they do 3-d images so u get lots of pictures taken. Then on the 4th

we get his band so it only takes 2 weeks.

I don't quite understand your whole insurance situation, we didn't

have to deal with a CT scan or preapproval or denial before banding.

But from the time she's casted, it should take about a week to 2

weeks to get the band back and fitted. It should not take longer

than 2 weeks, because babies grow so fast and the band might not fit

right if it takes longer than that. What kind of band is she

getting? Is the the CT scan and casting at the same place? I'm just

not sure what to tell you, it's a little confusing to me. My son did

have CT scan to rule out cranio, but that was when he was 4 months

old, a year before he got his band, and it wasn't required for the

banding or for insurance purposes. And the scan was done at a

hospital, where as his casting was done at the banding facility. So

I'm not really sure about your situation. But hopefully I answered

part of your question about how long after the casting. Will the

band provider file your claim for you? Or do you have to file it

yourself? I had to file my own claim, and it took less than a month

to hear back from them and get the check for reimbursement (we had

to pay up front).

Good luck next week!
