Guest guest
Hi Barbie, I was pretty unsuccessful at repo'ing at night, which is why I bought the positioners with the memory foam pillows. We actually started early enough that we could swaddle the boys with one arm out and they would suck the thumb of the hand on the side we wanted them to look towards. If Hallie is a thumb sucker this could work, but at about 4 months they didn't like the confinement any more...that is when we got the positioners. One thing people have used is a rice sock sewn into the pyjamas to get the baby to tip away from the flat spot. I'm not sure how this works, but you could post a question about it, or look through the repo files. Most of the repo tips we got were from this discussion group and common sense. The PT helped us with positioning them in their car seats to stop them tipping their heads. The twin with the worse plagio and tort learned to roll early without help. The one with milder tort STILL needs encouragement to roll from back to belly at almost 8 months. He has worse reflux and the PT thinks that is why he doesn't want to pull his legs up to roll and prefers to be on his back. He is sitting up though, and all other milestones are on target so I'm not worried. To get Hallie to roll from back to belly, work with getting her to suck her toes and slowly start tipping her from the hips while she's got her legs up. The biggest improvement has occurred in the last month (7-8 months, 6-7 adjusted), so it has taken a LOT of patience on my part. If you have any suspicion that Hallie has tort, no matter how mild, I would strongly recommend seeing a PT. Even if it is very mild, it will only make the plagio worse. All the best...and feel free to quiz me more, although I am no expert! Colleen > > Hi Barbie and , > > > > I used this positioner from 4-6 months.
