Guest guest
Things are very similar in the US. I think most pediatricians are just misinformed. It is so common for them to say " it will round out on its own " . And it just isn't true in many many cases. My daughter wore a band for severe brachy (flat in back). in the 5 mo with the band she got very good correction. Since she's been out of her band (1 year now) her head hasn't improved at all. It is pretty good but not perfect and I was hoping some remaining flatness would go away - but it didn't. I'm fine with that, but it just reassures me that the band was completely necessary. We were lucky that our insurance paid for the band, but so many people have their insurance company refuse. Good luck with your child's band and let us know if you have questions. -christine sydney 22 mo starband grad > > Hi, > My daughter who is now 5 and a half months old has been to see > the doctors on many occasions Since leaving hospital at a week old due > to being premature and underweight and i have been told she only has a > misshapen head it will return to normal within a month or so.
