It took some time to find medications which helped me for pain. I take

neurontin for neuropathic pain, 292's for headaches (night only), and

occasionally Ativan when spasms are the most problematic. Best way to

treat pain, find distraction, keep moving, gently warm and massage areas

most prown to spasm, and if you are driven to the point of wanting to die,

get to an emergency room and tell them exactly that.

Never had herpes or mono - did live near an oil refinery which had an

explosion (my father lost all his hair) - had pneumonia six times by age

20, many high fevers, one kept me comatose for several days. Also had a

propensity for doing dangerous stuff (skydiving, rally racing), had a few

head and neck injuries, did lots of matial arts sparring (Ai-ki-do, Praying

Mantis, Choy-Le-Fut). I thought it might have more to do with previous

brain injury?

Anyone else losing pigment in the iris (I know it happens routinely in the

elderly but I'm 47, and it started two years ago)? What is at work here

and can I make it stop?

To all of you who have recently lost loved ones, I offer my prayers and

respect for your selfless caregiving.

Greetings Aletta!

Though I do not think this is a diagnostic symptom, I've heard several other

people mention this. Of course, it is also wise to discuss this with an

ophthamologist, since it can also be a sign of glaucoma. However, due to

vision and neurological issues, it might also be wise to review the case at

least once with a neuro-ophthamologist, who combines both neurology and

ophthamology.
