Guest guest
Have thoroughly enjoyed reading all of your feelings re caregivers/patients. So enlightening and uplifting. I have a question. Bob has been having problems urinating lately; or, I should say, having problems urinating before we get to the bathroom or at night before he can reach his hand urinal. Also, it seems like his speech (which I can barely understand) and walking (he only takes short walks with his walker) have been become so much worse in the past week and a half. I've read so much about urinary tract infections, that I took him to the doctor a.m. But, of course, he was not able to give them a sample!! The doctor (not his neurologist, however) gave us samples of Ditropan XL and did put him on antibiotics just in case he did have an infection. Since he has taken antibiotics so rarely (not for this disease), we didn't think it would hurt. Has anyone had good results with Ditropan? It just seems like this happened too quickly - we did have our regular visit with the neurologist about a week and a half ago, and at that time we reported no such problems - only difficulty with bowel movements, which we think we have under control now. Thank you so much for any help you can give. Elaine Grimmesey
