Guest guest
I just got an email from my son's itinterant teacher. She had previously tol me she would get back to me regarding my concern about the background noise in 's class. She stated, " the problem with the ac/heating unit can be rectified with the FM system that the audiologist has ordered for . Everything should be in place within 2 weeks. " In my opinion the " problem with the ac/heating unit " can only be rectified by fixing the unit or making modifications to decrease its noise. I do believe an FM system will be helpful as well but the background noise must be decreased. Ugh. It just makes me sick that the one person I should be able to rely on didn't jump on advocating to get rid of that noise or move . I feel like I'm on my own again. I'm taking it one step at a time and not getting too stressed because I'm confident will get what he needs. I just hate that time must go by without the accomodations. Why do the schools consistantly wait until school starts to put things in place? All these considerations should have been discussed and put in place before school started. Another thing I need to get this school to understand is that this is going to be an ongoing issue should remain at this school as he continues his education in the upper grades. Do I have any say in the brand or model of FM or soundfield? I was hoping that I would have been consulted about the devices they might put in the class. Am I asking for too much? I'm trying not to overstep my bounds. K
