a, thanks for the info., I didn't know the liver enlarges / reduces with the level of intake. The rationale for loosing a few lbs. pre-op makes sense now . The "last supper" mentality is difficult to shake, though. Although I might be able to eat whatever I want post-op, I don't know that for sure. I might not react well to the foods I eat frequently, and it'll be a while before I get to try them. I'm so focused on food...when and what am i going to eat next, will I make/buy enough...it's almost nerveracking . So, to think of the several weeks or months (!!) after surgery of major restriction almost puts me into panic mode, in a way. On the other hand , I know there will eventually be a sense of relief in knowing that (higher than average) food consumption will not be the activity I look foward to the most. I'll be involved with new (and improved!!ha-ha) ones!! We all will.

Beth 5'3" 255lbs. BMI 45-46 pre-op testing with Dr. Macura, now have appt. with Dr. Herron in June. (not a surgeon issue...but one of open vs. lap)
