Y. and was to leave the 27th to come back to South BEND , In. but never made it until the 30th at 11.30 p.m. It was some thing no wind the snow just came down ,it was beautiful and neighbors all helped each other ,it was a good time for sharing . The lake water was warm at 41 degrees but it usally goes south of Buffalo. The land temperture was 26 to 28 degrees. Got back here tem 16 and wind 6 degrees yek! Guest guest Posted November 24, 2002 Report Share Posted November 24, 2002 hello everyone; Well if you all want snow i know where there is a good chance you can find some.Just come here to Mandan,North Dakota in January and you should be able to find all the snow you want.You can go sledding,snow skiing or whatever else you can do in the snow.It can be on of the nicest time's of the year.But of course with the snow come's the cold temperature's but that is why they make long underwear.So if anybody wants to come just give me a holler and i can set you up for some fun.Everybody have a nice ThanksGiving and thank You all for the great advice you have given me for my Granddaughter Laikyn. Guest guest Posted November 24, 2002 Report Share Posted November 24, 2002 hello everyone; Well if you all want snow i know where there is a good chance you can find some.Just come here to Mandan,North Dakota in January and you should be able to find all the snow you want.You can go sledding,snow skiing or whatever else you can do in the snow.It can be on of the nicest time's of the year.But of course with the snow come's the cold temperature's but that is why they make long underwear.So if anybody wants to come just give me a holler and i can set you up for some fun.Everybody have a nice ThanksGiving and thank You all for the great advice you have given me for my Granddaughter Laikyn. My daughter was just saying that she hates being cold, that all she wants to do is hibernate! LOL I think the thing that I like best about the cold, is that you can always get warm! When it's hot and sticky it can be very hard to cool off, especially if you don't have air-conditioning! (which we don't!) But during the winter, you can cuddle together under the afghans, and spend quality time, drinking hot cocoa, playing scrabble, and talking. And I absolutely LOVE to bake, something I do so much more of in the winter, when it's nice to have the oven heating up the kitchen! The only thing missing here, is the fireplace that we had in Washington State! We used to heat our whole place with it! (Electricity was VERY expensive there, our place was ALL electric) The fireplace gave me a great excuse to sit down and write letters to the folks back home, before the kids got up, while I was waiting for the fire to warm up the place! And it was great fun, working as a family, to get the wood chopped and stacked. Some day I would like to add a fireplace to this house. Talk about cozy and inviting! Sounds like you live in heaven!
