Guest guest
Thanks Catalina. I have a new reason to take multiple walks a day. A dog!!! I'm dog-sitting, possible permanently. Her owner broke her hip yesterday, and I have full custody. I feel bad for the owner, but I love having a dog. Re: trying again Welcome back on the wagon, we saved you a place. =+) Catalina > Hi everyone. My doctor told me no arm exercise for a month. I really can only use my arm when I need to. No lifting, carrying, etc. So for the last week or so, I ate everything in sight. All the yummy foods I had missed. Today, I'm back on track. I can walk and do stairs, but no biking. In two weeks, I can start very light exercises (no weights). In a month, I can resume weights. But this time, I'm going to stay with the light weights. I can't afford to miss class because I felt like pushing my body. Well, off to get started on a busy day. > > > It is better to be hated for who you are, then loved for who you are not. > > >

Guest guest
Wow thanks I am going to look for one the next time I am up by the pet store. That sounds just like what we may need. Odd thing about this sitting/begging thing she does is she started that by herself actually. We thought it was cute and just encouraged her to keep doing it. Now she does it without you asking. She can sit on her bottom..front feet raised for 5 min at a time. But now I am worried that I should discourage her from doing it. Her mommy is pure basset..dad well I have my suspiions about him being a pure beagle. She is pretty long and short nowhere near what a full basset is but you can see it in her. Guest guest
Personally, as cute as it is and I know it's cute, I'd try discouraging her by gently lowering her down and praise, praise, praise. Also with bassets, food is a *great* incentive, tho you would just need to use a tiny piece of treat. Even if you don't completely break her of it, the less she does it, the better for her back. As she gets older, it will be more stress. I bet she is just the cutest thing. Is she tri-colored with basset markings or beagle markings? How do her feet look? Like beagles or thick and chunky like a basset? As much as I love my golden, I still have a soft spot in my heart for bassets! Good luck. Pat > > > > > > > Hi everyone.
