Guest guest
Hi , Most bands need to be worn 23 hours/7 days a week. This sounds like a lot but once you get into the routine it is really no big deal and it is SO worth it! My son was the same happy baby during the time he wore his band. The reason babies need to wear the band 23 hours/7 days a week and not just when they sleep is because the head is always growing and you want all growth directed to the correct areas. If they only wear it during sleep but they are growing during the day then the head will continue to grow in the 'wrong' way. Your band provider can explain this better. As far as repositioning after the band, we didn't. My son was 9.5 months when he graduated. He also had started sleeping on his tummy. At 13 months, I took him back to CT because I was sure he had regressed...he had not. It is possible for heads to regress but they should never regress back to where they were when treatment was started. It is very rare so I wouldn't worry about it. Regression only happens in about 1% of cases and my hunch (just from what CT had told me) is that the babies that regress have uncorrected torticollis when they graduate or when they graduate they are really young and aren't sitting, crawling, etc. Good luck. 14 month old, DOC graduate > > > > Hi, > > > > Just wanted to shout from the rooftops that graduated from > her > > DOC Band today!!!
