Guest guest
Hello, My son, Tommy, was casted yesterday at CT in Cleveland (the casting was as bad as everyone said it would be! But it is over! He woke up today with croup, which he's never had and our older son never had too. I was reading that it can be caused by something inhaled so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this after casting (or at all)! We are anxious to get the DOC band next week! Thanks, Maureen Tommy, 4.5 months, DOC band casting yesterday plagio and brachy, right tort
Guest guest
I have never heard of croup being caused by casting. I've been in the group a little over a year. I don't have any experience with croup. I hope he'll recover quickly. Also I hope things go smoothly with his band. It is amazing to watch their heads change week by week. take care. -christine sydney 19 mo starband grad > > Hello, > > My son, Tommy, was casted yesterday at CT in Cleveland (the casting > was as bad as everyone said it would be! Guest guest
Not sure how old your little one with the croup is but keeping him upright or even on an angle to sleep will help, also. My four year old daughter had the croup when she was a couple months old. It was awful. Also, if you apply infant VICs baby rub we always laid a warm washcloth on her. You can also buy the vapor baby bath and soak the little one in the tub with the door closed to keep in the moisture. _________________________________________________ Thanks so much for the advice! We luckily never experienced croup before with my 2 year old. I just feel awful for the little guy with the casting and long car ride and then to add croup and the viral yucks (and my older son has a respiratory virus and had to endure the car ride too)! I will definitely try the vapor rub as well. The humidifier helped last night. Thanks again! Guest guest
, Thanks for that - we just tried the baby rub tonight and hopefully that will help both the 2 year old and 4.5 month old sleep a little better. We experienced all the respiratory viruses and breathing troubles when my older son was very young...it's amazing how much you forget so soon! Thanks again, Maureen Re: Casted yesterday, croup today Not sure how old your little one with the croup is butkeeping him upright or even on an angle to sleep willhelp, also. Guest guest
Hi Maureen, you welcome, that was the only thing that helped my four year old sleep through the night. Sleeping her bouncer and putting infant VICs baby rub on her with a warm cloth. I hope you little ones had a good nights sleep. My son had bronchiolitis for his first three winters and had to be on albuterol misted from a machine, where he had to wear a mask on his face. Thanks for that - we just tried the baby rub tonight and hopefully that will help both the 2 year old and 4.5 month old sleep a little better.
