Guest guest
Phosphorus can be hard to control. In fact, of all the things we have to regulate in our renal failure diet, phosphorus is the one we have the least amount of control over. We cannot NOT eat phosphorus. It's in just about anything. Some people limit it as much as possible, take the phosphorus binder (such as regular Tums) religiously with every meal, and they still have phosphorus which is too elevated. The best we can do is to limit the high phosphorus foods (dairy, legumes, etc.) and to remember to take that binder as prescribed.
