Guest guest
I was wondering for those on maintenance how many points do you eat per day or week? I'm back on program after having fallen off for a couple months. I reached my goal in June and then had a major life change and I have been off program since September. We put our house up for sale, bought a new one and moved. I did great under all the stress of selling our house and buying the new one. I managed to stay in control and kept on plan very well. Then we moved into our new house and everything just sort of fell apart. I think my major problem was the drastic change in routine. I am a very organized person and I once I get used to doing something a certain way it becomes pretty easy to maintain. Moving meant a change in routine and I don't think I have handled it to well. I had really thought that if I could make it through the stress of selling our house and buying a new one I could handle anything. Apparently I was wrong! I have tried to get back on plan several times and I haven't had much luck. I journal for a day and then by the second afternoon I'm blindly eating whatever I can find and not paying attention to how much I have eaten or how many points things are. It has been very frustrating and I'm not proud of it. I really thought that after 2 1/2 years on WW and some seriously long plateaus I would never fall off program. My leader said that if I could stick with WW for as long as I have and hold out through the plateaus and the very slow weight loss I should have no problem with maintenance. Well, I have managed to maintain and I am still under my goal weight but it's only luck and not because I have been doing all the right things. I don't know why I am having such a problem journaling and getting back on plan but I am determined to stay thin and healthy and get back in control of my eating. Today will make two full days of journaling and being perfectly on program with water and fruits and veggies. Another problem I think is that I haven't really tried to maintain my weight. I kept at my regular point target of 20 because I thought I wanted to loose more weight. Well I got down to 126 and I started to look drawn out and older I didn't like that to much. It could have been more a result of loads of stress and less about the weight loss though. So now I am back on plan and I'm trying to determine my point target. I know I don't want to go back to 20 points (plus flex) because with all the added stress and activity I wasn't feeling at all satisfied. I managed to maintain for the past two months and I was probably eating around 40 points a day. That is way to many and I don't feel in control with that many points. I know I will squander it on junk food and things that I don't need to be eating. So I think I will shoot for 24 points and do it with the Wendie plan so I have more control and still have a variety each day. That puts me at 195 points per week and I'm not sure if that is to many on maintenance.?? Any suggestions or words of encouragement are much appreciated. ) Kris 194/132/
Guest guest
You are only supposed to stay at your point range till you reach your goal. Once you are at your ideal weight you get to add back points two at a time till you are maintaining without gaining. As long as you are still maintaining you can keep adding 2 points per week. So my old ww leader was about 125 lbs and she was eating 40 points a day. She did a lot of weight training though so that would account for some of her points. I never did the adding back points thing, I just went off the deep end and stopped journaling and just ate Oreo's till I didn't want anymore. Not smart! I told hubby he can't buy Oreo's unless he hides them, obviously they are a red light food for me. I tried going back down to my old range and it was to restricting and since I don't want to loose any more weight there is no point. I'm thinking if I maintained for a month being out of control that I should be good with 24 points as my target. If I loose this week that will be good but if I gain I will cut back 2 points. Right now, I am at 229 and get 28 points per day. So far, unless I am WAY off my " eating right " path, I can stay within the 28 points with really no problem. <<So now I am back on plan and I'm trying to determine my point target. I know for myself I can't live on salads alone. I am hungry two hours later. I have to eat a WW meal or something around 4 or 5 points with salad on the side. Loads of water and vegetables help satisfy me too. Just some thoughts from a newbie! (I have only been on it for 4 weeks.) Guest guest
I eat 30 points a day Monday-Thursday. Friday I eat up to 39. Saturday and Sunday I eat up to 49. So that's an average of 36 points a day. (I don't always eat all the way to 49.) I maintain at about 115. BUT, I do an hour and a half or more of exercise per day, and on the weekends I usually run at least one long run of up to 13-15 miles. When I put the values into Fitday I average about 2000 calories per day over a week. On M-Th this comes to around 1600-1700 per day, with up to 2200 on the weekend days.
