Guest guest Posted December 14, 2001 Report Share Posted December 14, 2001 Good morning, After an interesting Friday at the ER my dad is in intensive care this morning. At the hospital he is in he does not have access to his good neurologist. The internist called saying for us to take him to the ER and admit him. He made arrangements so he would not have to wait which was great. He has very severe and unexplained anemia (hemoglobin at 5) The doctor said it is very dangerous and we will be trying to treat him. They plan to test to find out the cause of the anemia and took him off of the medications he has been on for the last few years so they can try to find the reason for the anemia. He is getting 3 units of blood right now. Anyone have any experience with this as it relates to MSA? Can you recommend some reading material? Any ideas on where to look for anemia and MSA? I found one abstract from " Movement Disorders " march 8, 2001. I can't remember how to access the achives and everything is overwhelming right now.
