So interesting to hear Gordon's story. It sound so familiar. AM 68 year old female living in SWVA town of Blacksburg.

I, too, was first dx'd PD then later MSA. My PD since 1999 and MSA at Mayo clinic 01-2000. I believe I was s showing symptoms of one or the other many years in advance. Much of my distress came from joint pain and stiffness attributed to Osteo-arthritis which has plagued me all my adult life, but became mixed in with other symptoms of imbalance etc. Finally when I realized there was more going on in my body than just old age joint problems I pursued systems.

I ma still on my feet although use a walker all the time and as Gordon am pushed in W/C for long distances. I recently spent 1 week in hospital for PT/OT which has helped me tremendously with stiffeness and even maintaining some strength. I found a very competent neuro in Roanoke VA who is familiar with this disorder and knows that I am not looking for a cure but symptom management.

Like everyone on this list, sorry you have to be here, but you won't find a more knowledgeable and caring group anywhere.
