Thank you Barbara. I just thinking about you. I'm sorry that you still

experience pain from the stones but am thankful that they are not moving down

into

the ureters. PTL!

I'll let you know something soon I hope,

I hope you don't have stones, as they are no picnic, but if that is the

reason you are having your current problems, at least you would have an

answer.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Not that the pain will be any less knowing what to expect, but at least

you DO know what to expect.

Please let us know how things go if you feel up to it.

So sorry you have more stones to deal with. I remember how helpful

you were when I was going through IVPs etc., having been through all

that yourself. Hope whatever they recommend, it will not be a big

ordeal for you. Also hope they can come up with some recommendations

that may prevent further formation. One of the nice side-effects of

taking K-Phos Neutral is that it acidifies an alkaline urine (which

mine is) and helps prevent stone formation. I do still have stones

in both kidneys, but they are not in a position where lipotripsy can

be used. I'm hoping they will just stay put forever, as they are too

large to pass. Several times I've had sudden severe pain in the left

kidney in the middle of the night, and believe me, I start praying

real hard. It has always stopped after an hour or two.

Let us know what the plans are.

Hugs and prayers,

Barbara

Good luck ,

I really hope this is less uncomfortable than you remembered.

Are kidney stones common in mito? I couldn't find anything where it

said that specifically (only that it causes kidney " problems " ). My

brother has been trying to pass five of them for months, but they

haven't figured out what's causing them yet.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow. I hope it is over

quickly and that you can find some answers that give you relief.

Renal tubular acidosis and Fanconi's are two kidney problems

associated with mito disorders. There may be others. Approx 70% of

RTA patients have kidney stones.

-Good luck to you . I hope it's nothing serious. You have enough

to deal with right now. I have a stone or a AML

(angiomyolipoma)leison in my kidney. It hasn't caused-me any problems,

they just do regular ultrasounds to watch it. Are things like this

related to mito do you know? Celia
