Only once long ago I had a toe do this but other than that only the toe and

foot cramping. Cannot remember the circumstances really about the toe going

in a wierd position.

Hi,

I get them all the time, but mostly in the toes. This usually happens when my

foot get myocymia (sp?), which looks like worms crawling around under my skin.

Thanks Janet. Does anyone know what causes it. I have been having it

almost constantly for several days, Celia

I have the same exact explanation as Laurie. Sometimes rubbing will help but

not all the time. It can be painful and disabling at times. I have a 10 year

old granddaughter who suffers with this horribly and when it hits, she begs us

to help her and all we can do is rub.

The toe and finger cramping are causes by nerves firering and causing the

muscles to contract. When we bend a finger, it is several muscles working

together to make it a smooth motion. When the fingers and toes go into weird

postitions or lock, it is because only some of muscles have been stimulated.

My toes have done this as long as I can remember, but they have improved to

almost non-existant since I was put on Lamictal. My fingers do it when I

have used them a great deal as in typing or knitting or even turning pages

in a book.
