Guest guest
I am in a position. I don't go to meetings for several reasons, but one is that I just cannot afford them. So....along comes this new core program. I've been reading about it all over the internet, I've seen the list that WW will be shutting down as soon as they find out about it (http://pages.ivillage.com/andibrown/id13.html) and now I'm really thinking I could DO this core. What to do. Do it on my own without the WW instructions, join local meetings again? I only have one meeting a week in my small town and it is going to conflict sometimes with my son's activities. You have to go at least the first four weeks to get all the basic info. Then there's the option of buying the at-home program. Well, it's 100 plus shipping. That's a lot of money to us right now. Also, it says it comes with the At-Home Guidebook. Will this be everything? I suppose by the time I go to in-town meetings and buy the at-home kit, it will even out...but still. At home charges your credit card over 3 months, so that is nicer....but still. Now here's another question that is of significant importance to me. I've heard rumors that the new core makes you count everything in a recipe if all ingredients are not core. I've also heard recipes that you pick the recipe apart and don't count the core items. I have printed out many recipes that are cost conscious and that my family likes, and the thought of spending time looking for new recipes, or modifying my old recipes, or having to count my 35 flex points for the entire portion even if there are core foods, well, just not appealing financially, time-wise, etc. So...what do you all suggest? I'd like to give it a go. This might be the change I'm looking for to do this! I was up until 4am last night reading all the message boards, etc, and frankly was getting very excited...which is the catalyst for me being OP. Lyn p.s. by sending this post, you'll all be aware that i've been struggling BIG TIME this summer with being OP. I've had OP days, followed by non-OP days, followed by OP days and it's getting me nowhere.
