Guest guest
Hello, My son is 3 1/2 months old and has left plagio and no tort. I'm awaiting our appointment at Children's Hospital and wonder if anyone has already gone through the process. I'm wondering about the appointment process, criteria for banding, who the local orthotists are (I saw only 1 entry under the group's database..in Surrey), ease of getting EHB to cover part/fully, etc. Do the helmets/bands look anything like the DOC/Starband, etc.? To the general group, I am also wondering about parents with touchy babies and whether it was especially challenging to build tolerance to wearing the helmet. I know to introduce it over a few nights, but my son likes to thrash when put to bed. Unfortunately, he doesn't fall asleep with me yet he fights falling asleep on his own in bed too! Needless to say, any attempts to position him in bed has failed. He is a fiesty one and not afraid to make it known. Did anyone use memory foam to cover the whole mattress before they got the band? Was it helpful? Do you worry about them smothering at all? Does 2 " thickness sound reasonable for that purpose? Thanks for any tips, Jenn
