Okay.. I just signed up with WW eTools and was digging around the

message boards. Apparently the new PDA program IS available but

only if you are an eTools subscriber. (From what I understand, this

program is not yet available to WW Online members.)

The download area is not easy to find... I had to dig through

several pages of the main message board to find it.

You will be prompted for your eTools login and according to the

directions, you will also have to enter this info into the setup

wizard when installing the program.

The " sad " part is that you need to have a lot of available memory.

Palm OS: Min. 3.5, Recommended 4.1 or higher

Palm Total RAM: Min. 1 MB, Rec. 16 MB or greater

Palm Free RAM: Min 4.5 MB, Rec. 6 MB or greater

PC OS: Min. Win 98 SR1, NT 4 SP 6a, Rec. Win 2000 or XP

PC RAM: Min 64 MB, Rec. 256

CPU: Min. Pentium II 300 Mhz, Rec. Pentium IV

HDD: Min./Rec. 30 MB

I'm going to try installing it to my memory card to see if the

program will still run. Apparently this also syncs with the diary

on eTools.

Well, the program does not run from the installation to a memory

card. :( One of these days I'll have to upgrade to a PDA with a lot

more interal RAM. I have a Zire 71 with 16 MB of internal memory,

but it's pretty full right now. I can't decide what else I should

get rid of. I did try to use PowerRun - it transfers an internal

program " sort of " to a memory card, but it caused the WW program to

crap out and now I'm in the process of re-syncing with the WW

website.

I just uploaded a 10-page PDF document that is an introduction to

WW's PDA program.

I just put it on my Palm. I have the Tungsten T2. I had to get a new one

because my old M130 just didn't have enough guts (i.e. RAM). So, I found

this one on the Palm Website, Open Box, for $188. It works terrific. 32 MB

onboard memory, plus I have a memory card that I bought from Costco for $59.

I have plenty of room on my main memory, so I won't be putting it on my

card.

I like the program so far because it synch's with my online account. How

did you find out about this? Very interesting.I haven't seen anything about

this at all, and wondered why WW didn't do it before. Well, thank you for

the tip!

Wow! You got a good deal on your PDA! I was able to remove a few

programs and after installing the WW program, I still have about 4

MB free. One of these days I'll get a bigger one. LOL

I found out about the PDA program by going to the message board with

the eTools topic. Someone had posted about it, mentioning that you

had to be an eTools subscriber. She also mentioned that she had

posted about it on one of the regular boards but the moderators had

removed the link. I did two things. The first was to send a

message to WW via the website saying that I had just signed up with

eTools and wasn't able to find the " WW on the Go " link to download

the PDA program. The second thing was to dig through a few days of

messages on the General board and came across the link to download

the program. Shortly after I found that link, I received a reply

from WW with the link. I figured that since they did email me the

link, it wasn't a " bad " thing to post it to the group... because it

still only works if you are subscribed to eTools. According to one

of the discussion boards, it should be available to people who are

subscribed to WW Online pretty soon. (Although it seems kind of

weird that it isn't available to all of the subscribers.)

Yep.... When I went out to the WW site there was a link for the " program

guide. " I thought.. " Cool! " and clicked the link, but it said I had to be

an Online Member in order to get that.... So the Online membership

definitely has more " stuff " ...

Re: Re: WW official PDA program

I think they use the same stuff too, but I think the Online might get

more??? I'd think they'd have to explain the program a bit and that info

would have to be on there.

Hey Lyn,

I agree about the Etools. I tried it when they were giving the 2 weeks

free, but didn't really think it was that great. I thought WWonline and

Etools used the same stuff though, maybe I am wrong.
