Guest guest
I am so sorry that you do not have answers yet. Waiting and wondering is so hard. Is it possible your son had a stroke? Have they ruled that out? Have you found out anymore regarding the artifact that showed up on his MRI? I can't remember...did you have a PET scan when you were at CHM? I hope you get some answers soon. Elaine > > Hello Everyone! > Well I spoke to 's Ped. yesterday on the phone for almost an > hour. She is really nice and concerned, but I need answers. Guest guest
Strokes can happen in utero, during the birthing process, or just about anytime. Guest guest
Hi Elaine! Wondering and waiting is very hard. I just don't know what to do. They haven't mentioned a possible stroke, but the only thing they want to relate his right side weakness to is Torticollis. His Ped, is checking to see what the artifact is regarding the MRI. No he hasn't had a PET Scan, but someone else mentioned it also so we are scheduling an appt tomorrow for one, and the Ped recommended an ultrasound of his head. I hope to find out something soon. Guest guest
Wow that is amazing because that never really crossed my mind, but someone did mention it to me. I feel bad to say this but I do believe that he can feel on his right side. I will give him a complete exam and see tomorrow. He just went to sleep so I will see how long that goes. Thank you for the advice, and I will check into it. fwaaga <fwaaga@...> wrote: I think Elaine may be right. Sounds like could of had a stroke if one side of the body is weak. Do you know if he has feelings down that side. If he has it's could be the one sign he had a mild stroke that you aren't aware of. You don't need to be a senior aged person to have a stroke. I have a girlfried who's had a stroke at a young age. It's a very fightening experience to go through! Suzi, Oz From: coleman0711 I am so sorry that you do not have answers yet. Guest guest
Wow that is something. You are bringing me back to my labor and it was prolonged and extremly painful. Do you know what could cause a stroke in the womb? Guest guest
It sounds like you need to get a more aggressive pediatric neurologist. Maybe someone at CHM. When you mentioned your ped is looking into the artifact...you are referring to his pediatrician and not his neuro, right? Your neuro should have this answer for you by now. I hope you get some answers soon. BTW, if you do get the PET scan at CHM, let me know and I will tell you all about my experience.
