got his hanger helmet yesterday

My son got his Hanger helmet yesterday. He did pretty well

considering he has this new object on his head. He seems unsure to

move his head as quickly and easily has he did before. Instead of

moving his head, he tends to lead with his eyes first. Is this common

due to the newness of the helmet? Do the kids eventually rotate their

heads as before? He has torticollis and I don't want any set backs.
