Thanks, Beth! It feels good. I think we all have to take good care of

ourselves right now!

Jane

And how are you, my fine feathered friend?

I'm doing well. Thanks for asking.

I cooked my lunches for this week yesterday. Porterhouse steaks were on

sale so I bought a bunch. I cooked them in olive oil, oregano, fresh

garlic and fresh basil. Mmmmmmmmmmm. I also cooked up 2 heads of

cauliflower in the same pan after I drained the fat. I added soy sauce,

chili garlic sauce and a small amount of cream cheese. Plus, I made some

hard boiled eggs. I also have some bacon, salad and strawberries that I

will also bring throughout the week.

Dh made an awesome beef roast last night. He stuffed it garlic and slow

cooked it on the grill. It was so tender and delicious. I made a sauce for

it with blue cheese and sour cream. He also made a spaghetti squash on the

grill. We just eat it with butter. I made a cheese cake for dessert but was

too full to have any! It's so hard for me to feel deprived when I'm eating

like a queen!

Did anyone catch Suzanne Somers on the Home Shopping Network this weekend?

I love to watch her cook. She makes the most beautiful food.

I think cooking really is the key to this woe. The more I cook, the more

interesting the food I eat, the more satisfied and less deprived I feel.

Very well said Jane!

Beth

Focus on something else, !

Focus on how you're feeling.

Focus on how this is an easy-to-maintain way of eating.

Focus on how you want to feel for the rest of your life.

Focus on how your clothes are fitting.

Focus on how good the food tastes.

Focus on how balanced your emotions are.

Focus on how good your feet feel.

Focus on your breathing.

Focus on the beauty of fall.

Focus on the upcoming holiday season.

Focus on the health of your dear ones.

Focus on anything else but the scale.

Focus on how well you're doing!

We all think you're doing great!

Hang in there, Jane. I agree with Joya. I would love to be down 15

pounds. So much better than being up 15 pounds. Is there a support

group for wives whose husbands are in training? Seems like that could

help the stress. Joanne

I would give anything to have lost 15 pounds this year!!!!

yeah, how about pictures of hubbies you guys? You can all make catherine

and I drool. I have seen pictures of Dianne's, and I met Norma's and I saw

a verry verry fuzzy pic of Robin's (need afocused one), and Rick, and Emad

and Cesar. How about the rest of you sending in pics, oh no attachments.

This list was way more fun with attachments. Are we ever going to turn them

back on?

Thank you all for your kind messages.

Re: low carb: I guess that today is as good a day as any to start again,

huh? So here goes. . .

Re: DH's training: Really, the bottom line is that we are all healthy and

happy and regardless of what happens, we are all here. So many families

lost loved ones on September 11th. My father died 10 years ago, just 3

months before DH and I got married. And about 10 years ago today, my Mom

said something that has resounded in my heart since then: " You must be

grateful for what you have because you never know how long you will have

it. "

So today I will focus on gratitude and on the fact that I have been given

all of you as a wonderful support system for this way of life. Thank you!

I guess we should take a poll and see what people think about turning them back

on. I have had some requests to turn them on and some to leave them off.

Congratulations to dh and to you. Fifteen pounds is great! Sorry you are

under such stress. How about trying stress exercise or stress cleaning

instead of stress eating.

on it. When do the polls close?

Thanks for asking Jane.

My sister and her family were in town last week. They stayed at my house

and I got to play with my nephews for the entire week! They are four and

eighteen months. They live in New Jersey and I don't get to see them as

often as I would like. I took the week off from work and had a wonderful

holiday.

My aunt had Thanksgiving dinner at her house, so that was easy. I just ate

turkey and salad. I had sugarfree cheesecake waiting for me at home. I'm

not a big fan of stuffing or yams. The rest of the week was a little

different.

I fell off the wagon a few times. I bought things that I don't usually have

in my house for my nephews. I indulged in pancakes one morning. I finished

a few half-eaten apples. I also had one of my all time favorites--macaroni

and cheese. I was able to stay away from the cheerios and the crackers.

Otherwise, I served low carb to everyone. Roasted chickens, grilled chicken

breasts, beef roast, cheese, salads and low carb vegetables. My sister

follow low fat so I tried to incorporate that as well. Everyone seemed

pleased with the food available.

I got back on the wagon as soon as they left. I sent the rest of the

apples, Teddy Grahams, Goldfish and Cream of Wheat home with them.

Beth

Sounds like fun! How did you do with entertaining and lowcarbing?

Hi, everyone, and thanks for your kind thoughts.

My little one is asleep right now. Spent time with the doctor this morning.

She has a horrible case of croup. After making sure she's ok, getting

shots, etc etc etc, we're home. Now as long as her twin sister doesn't get

the same thing, we'll be ok for Christmas!

As far as lowcarbing, I didn't get the eggs boiled and will do that now. I

need a good dose of protein to get my mind off the evil carbs! :)

Then I'll sit and finish cards, wrap some presents and keep both girls happy

inside while they're missing a couple of parties and a chance to meet Santa.

.. . . . I wouldn't trade this for the world. :)

Love to you all.

Drink your water!
