I read 's post and the resulting discussion with great

interest. I just found out yesterday that I'll be flying to

California in August. I'll be there from Wednesday to Sunday--a

pretty long stay by my standards. We're having our annual company get-

together, so I'll be spending all that time with my co-workers. I'm a

little nervous. I haven't found out what hotel I'll be staying at,

but I hope it provides a continental breakfast. Some fruit and milk

should be fine.

I am RESOLVED to stay on program when I go. Please give me some ideas

of what to take with me so I can eat my own stuff if I have to.

Dinner shouldn't be a problem, because I imagine we'll eat out, and

usually there are SOME options available!! Lunch could be an issue--

my biggest one, I guess, if they decide to bring in lunch meat,

rolls, and various deli salads for all of us.

So far, I've decided to take a few Rice Krispy Treats (will satisfy

my after dinner sweet craving) and some microwave popcorn. I think

the idea of taking some soup would be a good one as well. I LOVE

those Chunky soups, especially the gumbo.

I'm hoping to stop by a grocery store for some yogurt, but I don't

know how that will pan out. Maybe I can pay one of my California

counterparts to buy me some and stash them in the fridge at

headquarters for me! LOL!!

I'm also making plans to fit exercise in even more than I do now in

case I need the extra points with all the eating out.

That's my plan so far. HELP!!! I need more advice. Tory, I know you

wrote at length about what you were planning to do when you went on a

trip recently, but I CANNOT find it in the archives. Can you point me

in the right direction?

P.S.: I told my boss yesterday that I didn't want to go because I

didn't think I'd fit in one seat on the airplane. He told that he

really wants me there. He said that he doesn't think I'll have any

problem with fitting in the seat, but if I do, he'll pay for two.

He's been so supportive. :)

, sounds like you have it worked out quite fine. I have no

doubts you will manage well..You have some good options for your own

snacks..

I just wanted to say that your boss sounds like a sweetheart. I would

guess that he is prouder of you than you realize. I travel a lot by

plane, and I have seen some pretty large people fit into the seats

ok...including me in the past...because I always gained my weight in

the bottom area.. Hope you have a nice time when your there...Kallie
