Guest guest
Yes, but I would consider it to be a dessert or a treat. With the SBD, I would consider a snack to be something more substantial and healthy. Guest guest
I think ' point is that snacks should have some nutritional value. You're correct, Jello is allowed, but is considered a dessert. Guest guest
SF jello is almost virtually calorie/sugar/fat free...why wouldn't it be a snack? Guest guest
> SF jello is almost virtually calorie/sugar/fat free...why > wouldn't it be a snack? Because it has no nutritional value. Think about it for a second -- why do we eat snacks on the SBD? In other words, what purpose do snacks serve the body? They help boost the blood sugar as it drops between regular meals just enough to prevent you from crashing, thereby stabilizing your blood sugar. To do this though, they have to offer SOMETHING nutrient-wise -- protein, fat or carbohydrate. Apply this thinking to Jell-o and you can see why it does not qualify as a snack. But, it does keep me from eating naughty stuff in the car. I grew up in a family that consumes boxes and bags of stuff on every long car trip. You'd be mortified to see the amount! Guest guest
Hi Sherye- I am also in cold Michigan! I would take one of those little coolers and include things like string cheese, fruit (if you are on p2) celery sticks, cucumbers, green or red pepper strips, some laughing cow light cheese - maybe some nuts. Good luck and have a great break! > > We're getting ready to leave Michigan for warmer weather, in Florida, for > spring break. Now we pack the cooler with rollups of lunchmeat/cheese/pepper strips, nuts, cheese and bottled water. Cathy
