Guest guest
Welcome to the group! That 1-2 lbs per week is VERY variable. Some people have a hard time losing even that much, so I would recommend that instead of focusing on HOW LONG it will take to lose your 15 pounds, instead you focus on taking it one day at a time. Every fraction of a pound gone is a fraction GONE....and eventually it will add up to your 15 pounds! Good luck to you... Bette
Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I'm officially going to join this group now lol by writing in. I need to lose about 15 lbs, and I need to do in a healthy way. That's why I am choosing WW. My big problem is portion control. If i mess up one day and have a a cookie or a donut, my crazy head tells me well you already messed up your diet so why don't you just eat the whole box....and believe me I do it!! You all seem very nice and very laid back I can't wait to get to kow all of you. How long do you guys think it will take the lose about 15 lbs? I know the average is about 1-2 lbs per week. Guest guest
Great to hear from you! =) I agree wholeheartedly w/ the 1-2lb a week rule. You still might see a week where you lose more or a week where you lose less, but it usually averages out. New Girl here > Hi Everyone! Guest guest
jeannines626: I would suggest not looking at your weight loss in terms " of time it will take to loose it. " I have set myself up for disaster by doing that. The first thing I want to do when I start a weight loss program is set up goals - I plan to loose it all by 6 months, and at 1 - 2 pounds per week, that would be perfect. Well, reality is that your body will react different to different circumstances. I personally believe that the last 15 pounds are the hardest. It could be that your goal will be met very quickly, but then, I've heard others talk in the WW meetings, that they have been stuck for a long time, with the last 5 pounds. So, as you progress, look at your measurements, and look at what you are eating and if you meet those goals, take pride in those, but don't loose heart if you get stuck with 5-8 pounds to go. They are usually the hardest. I'm at my last 15 pounds, which means I've lost 34 pounds since Jan 17th. I've been stuck here for a while (2 months) and I've lost heart a few times because I had planed to be done by July. I've had to rethink that goal, and let my body do its thing. Good luck!
