Guest guest
Welcome to the list all you new people! Suzanne: you are right you are being handed a crock (krok). You can't lose 40 kg by dieting and even if you could it wouldn't stay off. Many of us have had to travel to get WLS and you may have to do that too. What's the difference between the two bands? Kim - can we post this on the home page since this question comes up alot. They are very similar. They are made by different companies: obtechmedical and bioenterics. One holds more than the other. One is softer than the other. They work about the same. If your surgeon is giving you a choice he/she will probably have both bands for you to look at. If he/she just uses one kind then he/she will tell you about it. Some people think one is better or different than the other. I really don't. As said: I would have let them use a clamp from a '56 Chevy. I think your best bet is to go to each website and read what the manufacturer has to say. Talk to your surgeon. How are you all doing? Sharon when are we going shopping for leather pants? Ken - how's the new girlfriend? Debie How are the horses? Anybody getting bored with being thinner? Steve are you still there? I spent the whole day in a bathing suit yesterday. For the first time in 25 years. Shorts over the bottom some of the time and sweat pants when it got cold. In spite of the shitty Seattle weather and the risk of skin cancer I am working on a tan. Skin tightening is proceeding OK for a 50 y/o lady but I wouldn't mind it a little tighter. Hopefully that will come with time (or surgery). Any suggestions?

I think I might be more inclined to go for face surgery as I can already see that I could be left a bit jowly when all the weight is gone. I just had a new passport photo done and boy I couldn't believe how much fatter I am now than the last one ten years ago and I was fairly fat then. So, it could be a face lift for me.
