guess you were right! your still here!!!! Ken

Re: A few things

Hi Marina,

Oh no! I hope it doesn't look like a war has started. I thought the ladies

were just pushing buttons in jest. I still think that is the case.

If your desire for me to keep my moon shots private is with the majority of

the members, I won't post them (yet).

Deception: I deceived my family and friends, mostly in telling lies. I.e.,

lied to my employer and peers for the reason I was taking time off from work,

lied repeatedly to account for my time spent taking pre-op tests, exams, and

consults, lied in connection with the $15,000 cash as I accumulated it in

preparation for the surgery, and lied, giving every impression that I was going

to be finishing a remodel at home, but instead jetted to Stockholm to drop

$15,000. Deception--yes! Regrets--none!!!!!!

And hugs to you too Marina!

said faces (not moons) !!!

Why deception, Steve ???

Hi everyone,

The Australians in our group have been very quiet of late, there must be only a

few of us left.

When I was looking into my surgery I found it quite difficult to find

information about the band, not the technical stuff but what it was really like

to experience life with a band. I stumbled on Olwen's site first and then found

Barbara's which was a great inspiration to me. I feel that there should be more

stories like Barbara's page and I would have no problem being part of that. I

don't know how to write a web page as I am just mastering the basics on the

computer. My story as I have said before has already been made public and that

is probably the reason why I like this idea. I realise that it isn't for

everyone but it does help reading about what people go through, the ups and

downs etc.

Sharon, I was very nervous before my op and wrote a letter. After I came home

my kids said they knew I had nothing to worry about! LOL

Good luck everyone who is having surgery over the next few days/week and looking

forward to hear from you all on the 'other side'.

Caryn, Thank you for your kind words. I'm feeling a little better about myself

and have had my hair done and looking into buying some new clothes. Watch out

world! LOL

Marina,

Thanks for the encouraging words, I know I'm impatient, but I guess that I

didn't want to have a stand still or even a plateau this early in the game.

I've got another appointment for this Monday with the doc for another

fill. I called the office just a little while ago and the patient advocate

said that I should be feeling something. So at least the office is VERY

supportive and caring.

Hi Marina

I tried calling Dr Frering today without any joy....I think that he was out

to Lunch...but since my French is limited to talking about a boy/waiter who

is on a table I'm not sure if I got the gist of what they were trying to

tell me....

As a last resort, I'm thinking about making a 3-way telephone call to talk

to Dr Frering.... I can either use Klaus or I can get somebody else to

translate....Ummm, maybe I'll ask Janet to assist as she knows Dr Frering.

Anyway, I remain ever optimistic....

Ronke ;-)

Hi everyone,

Welcome Steve, I hope everything is going well after your op.

Steph, I'm sorry to hear about your problems. I had wondered if you moved up

here but now I understand. My thoughts are with you.

Debie, I hope your horse is getting better and congratulations on your fantastic

weightloss. You must be so proud of yourself.

Marina, Keep up your spirits. I still think you need a fill but only you know

your own body.

I went for my lapband clinic today and I'm now down to 112kg so I am pleased. I

also had my skinfold tests too and I have lost there too. My doctor gave me a

fill which was a surprise as I thought I would have to go back again next week.

He put in 1ml so I have 1.75ml in now. I wanted to be like everyone else and

only eat small amounts. I am eating a bowl of soup at the moment and I have

only had a few mouthfuls and I'm full. YES!!!!

Jo and Grace,

Our meeting place has been torn down, like everything else in the middle of the

mall. :-( We will have to find somewhere else to go.

Best wishes to everyone,

Lois from Brisbane, Australia

My Dear Marina, I wish you luck with your search for a psych and hope that

this name that you have got from your doctor is the right man for the job.

I am amazed that you have had such difficulty finding someone.

/// I happened to find school things easy....I hope this doesn't sound

as if I am showing off.....it was just that the type of brain that I was

given at birth happens to be suited to our academic system in this

country!!! ///

Oh no you're not showing off, dear Helen. LOL I love the way you

say things. Have you never thought of a diplomatic carrier ? :-)))

More seriously, you are so lovable ... I really don't understand how

own parents can sometimes hurt a child feelings this way and ruin

his/her life. Fortunately, you are a bright person who can understand

this it's their loss, eventually. You now have your family, with a

loving husband, great children, and you do your best for them and

yourself. I wish you all the best ! (and believe me, that's the least

you deserve ...).

/// I wanted a no hassels,no brainer, no pain weight lose. ///

Everybody's dream, Callie. Everybody ! but ...

Dear Kim,

We will miss you in the week-end chat. But you're right, take

advantage of the summer ! I wish you all the best for your fund

raising.

/// Week-end chat ///

I had thought that we could have changed the time or the day for our

chat, but one of the problems is the cost of it. In the US and Canada,

you don't pay the phone lines. In the rest of the world (Australia,

too, I think), you pay every minute you are online. That's why it's

better to do it during the week-end, when the phone fares are down.

And you all know how long can a chat last when you are in good company

.... Any suggestions ?

Dear Janet,

you are always soooooooooo nice ! Ooooops still have your

translation ... Sorry about it. Haven't been too much on the puter

lately. I'll try and finish it during the week-end :-)

Dear Lori,

Are you ok girl ? Don't let the depression go too far. Use some

help. I have realized the other day that since a few years, I feel

down every spring. I'm amazed. The season of year I prefer (with

summer) when the good days arrive ... and I feel down. It's a

fact. Don't know why.

Dear Molly,

35 lbs in 6 weeks ! You're doing great !!! Think positive, don't

let the negative thoughts come to you. It won't help, believe me.

Good luck Chani !

You're right to take the time to make your research before taking your

decision. I certainly hope it won't be the case, but what will you do

if your insurance don't cover the operation ? Will you go to France to

have it ?

Good luck to your sister !

DON'T MISS THE CHAT TONIGHT !!!

Cheers,

Marina, Switzerland
