Guest guest
The topic of Xenical seems to raise its head every so often, and I haven't posted about my experience before but seems like now might be the time. Went on Xenical about 3 years ago (got it from the US and NZ) courtesy of my GP. I had amazing success with it, lost 60kg over 18 months and felt fantastic. The good news is that the side effects almost disappear overtime a combination of diet adjustment (learning what has hidden fats) and your body getting used to the medication. By 6 months I had almost no side effects unless I at something that had been deep fried or chocolate, but it had to be a large quantity of these. Like a family block of chocolate or a fried seafood platter for 2..... unlikely to be able to consume this amount with the band. Anyway you are probably wondering why I got banded if Xenical was so good. Well the thing is it stopped working, after 2 years of being constantly on, it even a huge fried meal made no difference and then the weight started to creep back on, my problem was by this stage quantity of food rather than quality. So after gaining back about 25kg in a year (was also living in the US during this time, large portions!!!) I decided to do something more permenant. Randall, what you decide is up to you, but if you can bear the side effects for a bit, it should help kickstart the weightloss again. At least you cant eat vast quantities of food and the side effect make for better food choices, I may even give it a try myself if I don't get off this plateau from hell.
