Guest guest
Has anyone figured out how to do a good SBD-compliant Southern barbeque sauce? (You know...the mustard based ones...not the tomato based ones). Betsy Hall,

Guest guest
I use one that has mustard, worcestershire sauce, butter (or substitute) and vinegar. This is a very good basting sauce. (And it's definitely Southern!!! I'm from La.) Southern Barbeque sauce? Has anyone figured out how to do a good SBD-compliant Southern barbeque sauce? Guest guest
Yes, that's the sort of thing I'm looking for. All the barbeque sauce recipes I can find are for the tomato kind of sauces. I love those Southern barbeque sauces that are mostly mustard and vinegar. Do you sweeten it at all? And if so, with what. Do you have a recipe? Betsy Hall, Re: Southern Barbeque sauce? Guest guest
Betsy, you don't need to sweeten it. It's a perfect sauce for grilling anything. I use it on chicken, steaks, shish-ka-bobs, pork chops, shrimp, hamburgers.....everything! And....you really don't need a recipe. I use 2 sticks margarine (or whatever you use), several T. of mustard, 2 or 3 T. worcestershire sauce, and about 4 T. vinegar. I just pour everything into my saucepan until it looks right.....not too thick and not too thin. Let us know how it turns out! Yes, that's the sort of thing I'm looking for. Guest guest
Hi , For the BBQ sauce, could you be more specific...what is a 'stick' of margarine? Thanks, Lynn _________________________________________________________________ Take advantage of powerful junk e-mail filters built on patented Microsoft® SmartScreen Technology. http://join.msn.com/?pgmarket=en-ca&page=byoa/prem&xAPID=1994&DI=1034&SU=http://\ hotmail.com/enca&HL=Market_MSNIS_Taglines Start enjoying all the benefits of MSN® Premium right now and get the first two months FREE*.
