Guest guest
Kris, Do you get the magazine, " Consumer's Report " ? The latest issue has a great report on the Palm Pilots - the OS and PC types. Palm One was listed as one of the best. Do try to get a copy and study the list. It's very good. Cathy
Guest guest
Kris, I think your husband's giving you $1,000 to spend is an amazing, wonderful, priceless gift! It means far more even than the dollar amount! Wow. You have yourself a winner!! As for what to spend it on....I'd suggest that you breathe deeply and not rush into anything. But personally? Diamonds work for me. How about a nice diamond bracelet that will remind you on a daily basis that you NEVER want to put that weight back on? yep, diamonds work for me (VBG) !!! Guest guest
Please forgive the bragging but really I need some help. I have the best husband in the world!! He has been very supportive of me loosing weight and he is always telling me how great I'm doing. When I made goal the other day he brought me home three bouquets of flowers and gave me $1,000 to do what ever I want with!! Normally it would be very easy for me to go out and spend money but I can't decide what to do with it! I knew he would do something really nice when I reached goal but I just figured he'd buy me jewelry or take me somewhere nice for a weekend. I have no idea what I should do with it! Well there are things I have been wanting for some time like a Sony Clie palm pilot, and I'm sure I could manage to spend some on cloths because shopping has gotten a whole lot more fun the thinner I have gotten, but I can't decide. It would also be nice to go away for a weekend somewhere. If I bought the palm pilot though I could track all my WW stuff in it and the one I want also takes pictures so that would be cool, but it just seems to expensive and I wonder if it would really be worth it? So I have this money now burning a hole in my pocket and my husband wont even help me spend it. He just keeps saying it's mine to do whatever I want with, and he doesn't care if I spend it on clothes, jewelry, stuff for the house, or a day at a spa. I'm sure he would love to see some sexy underwear come out of it but he isn't going to help me spend it. So... What would you do??? I'm leaning towards the Sony PEG-UX50 and if anyone has one let me know if you feel it's worth the $600 price tag. Kris
Guest guest
Were you aware that Sony is pulling out of the PDA market in the US? You might want to reconsider what Palm OS PDA you should buy (if you buy one). BUT.. I really did like the Sony SJ-22 that I had. (No camera.) Right now, I'm using a Palm Zire 71 that has a digital camera built-in. I think the Zire 71 is down to under $200 now. There is also a Zire 72 available that has a 1 mega pixel camera (or 1.5?). I had a dream that I bought one of those. LOL The debate could go on and on as to which brand or model (or even OS) is the best... I'm very happy for you that your hubby is supportive AND likes to give nice gifts. LOL Goal Delema Please forgive the bragging but really I need some help. I have the best husband in the world!! Guest guest
Sony's pulling out of the PDA market, sure 'nuff. I love my TJ-37 but you might want to go with a Palm One device. I hear that the Treo 600 is pretty sweet (cell phone/PDA that runs the PalmOS), but at nearly $500, it's pretty pricey. If you do buy a PDA, make sure it has the PalmOS on it so that you can run WWCalc. Guest guest
Nope, I didn't know that. I was just checking out the Sony stuff the other day at the electronics store. I usually just go with whatever hubby say's is good because he's a computer geek. I know he was very adamant that I get one with the tiny keyboard for some reason. I looked at Palm website a while back and need to check them out again. Mostly I just want to know that whatever I get will be able to support the boot-leg WW programs LOL ;o) Kris Goal Delema Please forgive the bragging but really I need some help. Guest guest
I had the Sony UX50 and it's a great little pda, but I just don't feel like it justifies the pricetag. Pros: Smallest clam-shell design on the market. Best looking PDA IMO. The lighted keyboard rocks. Graphitti can be a pain to use if you're in a hurry and your handwriting isn't EXACTLY right. =) The graphic quality is excellent and everything just looks so much better. Plus, it supports hi-res graphics. Woohoo! Cons: The screen does not switch from horizontal to vertical, so programs that are made to fit a normal sized PDA screen just minimize themselves on the ux50 screen. It has WI-FI, but unless you have a lot of hot spots, that's not worth the money. I had trouble making it work at different hot spot areas, but there was probably some box I hadn't checked during setup that screwed it up. You can't see the screen outdoors in sunlight. That can be really frustrating. The camera is only 1/3 megapixel, so that's not that great. It's ok for little e-mail photos, but your quality is definitely comprised. The NZ-90 has a great 2 megapixel camera, but that unit is much larger than the UX50. (I had the 90 first, before switching to the UX50. I'm a pda junkie.) The battery life is OK. I had to remember to put it on the charger every night or every other night, because if I played a game for 30 minutes, that really sucked up the battery life. Overall, just make sure you really need all the functions. It's small enough to even sit in a side holster without looking too silly, which can be nice for jotting down your food & points values in WWCalc. Not being able to see the screen outdoors, plus the low battery life, made me switch over to a pda/phone- Kyocera 7135 right now, but I might get the newer Samsung i600 tonight. I'm still debating. I read reviews from lots of people that slammed the UX50 and some that said it was the best thing in the world. I always read the reviews and then try it out for myself. Sometimes I end up agreeing w/ the majority and sometimes I can't see where they were coming from. Let me know what you decide. I'm just curious what other fellow techies prefer. =) 175/157/130 Goal Delema > > Please forgive the bragging but really I need some help. > I have the best husband in the world!! Guest guest
The Timex GPS HRM BodyLink system is AWESOME! I feel like Batman when I go running w/ all my gadgets! =) I actually cover my GPS up w/ my sleeve, just so I don't look like the bionic woman, since I have my mp3 player on the same arm. It really helps you give yourself a much more effective workout. Btw, I bought mine on eBay for $100 less than what you would pay in a fitness store. The seller was very honest and everything worked out great (I hate buying expensive electronics on-line...for fear of the same experience you had w/ your mp3 player.) Let me know if you want his user id. Goal Delema > > > > Please forgive the bragging but really I need some help. > I have the best husband in the world!!
