Dear Deb,

I am in the same boat as you are. For a year I was doing very well

with my food. I would track my points, go to meetings and hang on

every word they would say. Now I am not tracking my points as I had

in the past, I am eaten all kinds of things, etc. I think you get

the picture. I have been thinking lately is this the person I want

to be? Is this what a loving person would do for would do for

herself? The answer to these questions have been NO, so I have to

do something different. I can, I must, I will live a healthy

lifestyle.

I think we all go through times like this and the trick is to just keep

going through the motions till you get your motivation back. Some times it's

very hard and we just don't want to keep track of points and gosh darn it

doughnuts and junk food taste good!! You are doing the right thing though by

telling yourself you are worth more and just keep picking yourself back up

when you fall. Try going and finding something that weighs the amount you

have lost so far (like a bag of dog food or a small child ;o) and picture

that back on your body, believe me none of us want that. I have lost more

than my child weighs and I struggle to pick her up and carry her now. She

fell asleep in my bed the other night and I had to move her to her room and

I almost dropped her before I got her to her bed. I can't imagine having

that much extra weight on me now and I never want to do it to myself again.

The minute I shrink out of clothes they are gone from my closet. I don't

want to be over weight again so everything goes into a bag in the garage to

be sent to Goodwill and when it's full it's out of here. Getting back on

track is really hard sometimes but you can do it. I have had many days that

started off great and by the end of the day my journal was half empty, but I

always started back up again and eventually the motivation will come back to

you.
