As you don't seem to go to the chat room, here it is:

Go to the Explorer

Find your browser (probably in the Program Files) - Don't know if you have

Netscape or Internet Explorer.

I have Netscape and find my cache under the directory Users.

If you don't know where it is, look for it in the different directories of

your browser.

You can also make a search ----> Start, Search File but make sure that

you search in the directory of your browser, otherwise it will take time and

you might find a few other caches (I think).

By the way, I don't think that your children can retrieve the sites you

have explored by the cache. Don't worry. Oh, and you're not supposed to

erase the " fat " files. LOL just realised what I just wrote ... Yes,

yes, such files exist. But I'm not a specialist and perhaps someone else

can help you better.

Good luck !

Love,

Marina

Dear ,

/// if I erase all the information from the history under the

communicator,,,is that history stored any where else?????? ///

I don't know ...

/// Have only found one cache file that that was under netscape,,,but when I

opened it up it didn't have any information about what the file contains?????

///

In my cache (Nestcape communicator), all the files start by a capital M, except

the fat.db file. I regularly erase them all, except the fat.db file. I

don't

think that you can damage anything if you erase these files.

Perhaps someone else could confirm it ...

Good luck !

Marina

There seems to be a few ways to get to it, depending on your Operating

System...Windows 95 or 98. I suggest talking to a local computer guy, and

possibly investing in a program called " BURN IT " which is designed to REALLY

DELETE when you hit delete.

Did you know, there have been cases where the FBI has gone into businesses

and downloaded the hard drives off computers, managed to recover all sorts

of deleted files and used the information in court.

Scared me...
