Guest guest
I just looked up this ride, Tory. If its' the same one that's 200 miles in 2 days. That's like doing back-to-back marathons. (100 Miles bicycle ride (Century) = approx. 25 running miles (Marathon)). My hat's off to both of you if you accomplish this. Mitch Tory Klementsen wrote: >That is AWESOME Mitch! Guest guest
That's the one. Yeah, we may be crazy, but it's something to shoot for. If not next year, the year after. > Farmlands Ride > >> > >> > >>I haven't been posting much lately, but thought I'd just > >>report in on my farmlands ride this morning. Guest guest
I'm reminded of the fellow who was riding along side me at last year's Princeton event. I was on the 35 mile route. He asked me " is this the 100 mile route? " . I said " no, the 100 mile route turned off about 5 miles back. Looks like you missed the turn " . He said " well, I'll just finish this 35 miles and then go back and do the 100 " . He was at least 10 years my senior - said he rides a century just about every week during the spring, summer and fall. I used to take these bicycling trips to Vermont. There was a leader on one of these trips whose life consisted of " leading bike trips in Vermont in the summer and teaching surfing in Hawaii in the winter. Not a lot of money in it, but I'm happy " . Anyhow, he had just finished riding a 200 mile, single-day ride across Vermont (top to bottom) which crossed 4 major mountain passes. .... and I thought my 60-70 miles/week on a bicycle and my little 5K runs were " extreme sports " . :-) Mitch Tory Klementsen wrote: >That's the one. Guest guest
What amazes me is that sometimes you meet one of these really world class athletes and find out they just started in their 60s or something like that. Wow! Makes me realize that it is truly NEVER too late! > Farmlands Ride > >>>> > >>>> > >>>>I haven't been posting much lately, but thought I'd just > report in > >>>>on my farmlands ride this morning. Guest guest
It never is. Marcie started out with (Tae Bo) when she was in her 70s--she hadn't done any physical activity before hand. She would take two of his classes back to back--always in long sleeves. She was faithful until she got sick (she passed way from leukemia a couple of years back).
