Guest guest
Terry Fox Terry was a young man from BC I think who in his late teens or early 20's had a leg removed because if cancer. he started a campaign to run across Canada to raise money for cancer. he almost made it , running on a peg leg and a good one. It was so sad and he was devastated when he realized he could not finish as his cancer had won the battle. He died I think when he was 21. Now every year there is a Terry Fox run and communities all across Canada get out and run raising money from sponsors to help with cancer research. At school we run around the playing field and the kids get sponsors. His family visits the schools right across Canada and they watch the campaign making sure that 90 % goes to cancer research. Last spring his mom , dad and brother came to our school. For those of us who remember Terry we can not watch a film on him or see his parents without tearing up.
