Guest guest
Hi, Phil. HSP was a part of my condition when I developed kidney disease as a child. At age 9 I had a case of strep throat go untreated which then triggered HSP and then became glomerulonephritis. No deafness but the typical rash and abdominal pains happened. My HSP has been in remission these past 22 years now. I did find out something interesting when I went for my initial kidney transplant evaluation last week. Apparently when you get HSP it's with you for life - didn't know that, and it can recur - didn't know that either. When they evaluate you for transplant they have to take into consideration the HSP because it could re-activate and damage the transplanted kidney. So this was a bit of news we hadn't anticipated.
