I feel let down so early in the > piece. I am wondering whether you've been having a problem receiving emails? I know that yahoogroups has been a bit temperamental the last couple of weeks. I am asking because I have seen quite a number of replies to your posts, and I'm really sorry you don't feel you are getting the support you need here. Please persevere, and please also try to remember that we all lead busy lives, and with the best of intentions sometimes it's hard to find the time to post as much as we might like. You are, as you say, at a critical stage of your banding in the first few weeks post-op, and it's also possible that uncertainties, insecurites and sensitivities run particularly high at this point. It sounds to me as though you are doing really well, and I sincerely hope that this continues. Remember, this is a long and not necessarily smooth journey, so please hang in there and trust that the people on this list mean well, wish to be supportive, and will gladly share their combined knowledge and experience. In general, I think you'll find that specific questions and requests will be answered. All the best, and I look forward to your continued contributions. Guest guest
Hi All After reading the incoming messages and being welcomed by some, I am a bit disappointed that no one had come back to me on my weight loss. I was so excited of this support group. I feel let down so early in the piece. Well I guess I shouldn't expect a lot from people I don't know. Support is for some not all. Well, its a critical time of my banding that I thought a found some friends. Even when you dont get a reply it hurts. Guest guest
Sam I have to say, Jeez, get a grip!! If we all replied to every posting, we'd be on here all day. A lot of us get these emails while we are at work, and the longer you stick around, you will see that most of us scan through the messages, see if there is anything we want to reply to, and if there is, we'll shoot off an email. We are all busy people and I know that some days I don't even get a chance to look at my ozband emails. Don't think that because no-one has replied to you, that no one cares. We are all at critical times in our banding, regardless of when we had it done, and many of us post just to get things off our chest, I know I have done so in the past, and if anyone replies, it is a bonus. If I'm not mistaken, people have been replying to your emails, maybe just not the one about your weight loss. I read every email that I get, as I'm sure everyone else on the list does, but sometimes it is just not possible to reply to them all. Guest guest
Hi Sam! Your weight loss was fantastic and you have every reason to be excited. Don't get too despondent about not getting so many replies - it happens to all of us and it will happen to you too. Sometimes I think I'll save that and reply later when I have more time or when the kids are not around - and then time gets away and for very valid reasons, the reply doesn't happen. I am sure every one was excited with you and for you. Some people have lost that amount of weight and it has taken them months and months and they were just as thrilled as you were. This is a time in your band when, like me, you can be a little sensitive and feel you need some extra support. Everyone will understand that too. Hang in there. I promise that it isn't that they weren't happy for you or that they don't want you to write in to the group. We still read all the emails that come in. The other day I received 135 emails and I could not have responded to every single one as much as I would have loved to. Don't be disappointed - be positive. This is one of the best things you have done for yourself and your success and happiness isn't reliant on other peoples reactions or responses. Pick yourself up and tell yourself " I have done well " . I am telling that to you too - WELL DONE SAM. Lots of love and take care - we do.
