Guest guest
Hi, Rivky: Dr. Youngs is a woman, first name is , and she is in Dearborn at Oakwood. She is caring and knowledgeable, spends a great deal of time with you taking a thorough history and likes to get tests run to see what is going on in your child's system. We took Jagger to Pfeiffer Treatment Center in Chicago, but wanted a local DAN Doctor to help us interpret test results and to be Jagger's regular pediatrician. I am not sure what all she does in regards to removing heavy metals, as this was not something she did with us, but if anyone else on this list sees her for clathrating or chelating, please let us know what you know about what Dr. Youngs does in this regard. She has a very pleasant personality. I liked her so much that after I moved to Vermont I sent her an email and suggested she come here every few months to see patients, as we don't have a DAN doctor in the vicinity. Having very young children of her own, that is not an option for her at this time. Lynn Rivky Kahan wrote: > I wasnt following this thread til now. Guest guest
Lynn I did not know Dr. Youngs could be a regular Ped. My insurance approved three visits with her. I will have to check into this. We see her again in September, I wish shw was his regular ped, I do not like who I am seeing now. (mainly because she is so far). I did not know what to expect when we first seen Dr. Youngs in June, but I must say I was totally impressed!!! I am actually looking forward to our next appointment! Guest guest
Hi, Lynda: Let me clarify that about "regular pediatrician". She is a specialist for those with disabilities and when we saw her it was due to referrals, so you should check to be sure. Ted Cullinan wrote: Lynn I did not know Dr. Youngs could be a regular Ped. Guest guest
Lynn I will defiantely look into it,but we will probably just stay with the peds we have and hopefully keep getting referrals approved. I don't need any more headaches or paperwork right now. We origianlly did get a referral through our insurance (HAP/HMO), I was shocked that they approved the 3 visits, with Dr. Youngs because they have denied just about everything else. was recieving speech through Henry Ford for 4 months covered by our insurance and when I switched over to a Beaumont pcp, HAP denied speech therapy through Beaumont. It doesn't make sense to me. I'm in the process of appealing it right now, i just can't figure these stupid insurance companies out. Guest guest
Rivky, You can reach Dr. Youngs by calling . She most likely has a waiting list at least 2 months long, but she's well worth it. I can echo everything Lynn said about her in previous posts. Dan >
Guest guest
Lynn, We've been seeing Dr. Youngs since January. Two visits ago, she mentioned heavy metals testing, but we haven't reached that stage yet. She talked about two treatment options for metals toxicity - one was Pfeiffer, and I can't remember the other. We're now at the stage of pinpointing 's specific amino acid and vitamin deficiencies, which requires the largest blood draw we've undergone to date. Dr. Youngs is the most compassionate physician I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She'll work very hard to get our children what they need. And, slightly on topic - the Oakwood Lab was very good at getting blood from the first time we tried several months ago. I held him on my lap in a bear hug, while one tech (a very strong, large young man, I wish I could remember his name, he was the best) held his arm as another tech drew the blood. He suffered no lasting trauma, as far as I could tell. They were a very professional outfit, and my best option now that our friend at Crittenton (Anita?) has quit. Guest guest
Hi, Dan: If you have a minute, you may want to call the Oakwood Lab and find out the name of the tech that drew blood from (the one that is the best!) and request him for your next blood draw. Good techs are hard to find. Lynn Dan & Rakowski wrote: > Lynn, > > We've been seeing Dr. Youngs since January.
