Hi Tammy,

Spencer had the same problem when he started to wear his DOC band. I was told the red spot on his forehead was a heat rash. After a week or two of wearing the band he stopped getting the heat rash. I think it is just the way they are getting used to wearing the band. The body will adjust to it and I'm sure after time he wont get any more red marks. Just keep using the Hydrocodizone cream. It's normal for the band to shift a little bit. After I put Spencer in his, he moves his head around and the band shifts forward (covering his eyebrows). It shouldn't cause any problems. If you want, on his next appointment with CT ask your clinician about it. It never hurts to ask. :)

Take Care

[sPAM] Just got the DOC band on Monday question about red spots and overall band fit

Hello, we went to Cranial Tech in NJ and had Pervi as our ortho. I did not use the band on the first day as we had it decorated and it was wet. We really began using it yesturday. 3 hours on 20 minutes off to check for red spots. I didnt notice any. However this morning after his first night sleeping in it, I took it off to clean and bathe him and noticed a red spot on his forehead (the part that sticks out further than the others.) It did not fade for over 2 hours. I called CT and they said it might be heat rash and to use Hydrocodizone to see if it helps. It seemed to help a bit. Anyone else experience this. The red spot lasted about 3 hours and faded a bit with the cream. It was a bit larger than a quarter. Secondly, the band moves alot, it is also low riding on his face. Often I do not see his eye brows. Is this normal. Sorry so many questions just want to get it right and do the best for him without him being in pain. He did sleep 7-5am so it didnt seem to be hurting him. Any info would be great. Tammy on Long Island

Thanks Lorie, it feels good to know others have gone through the same thing. Today when I took the band off it was red but not nearly what it was yesturday. It was more an overall light red in that area and faded even lighter when the band was off. Thanks, TammyLorie Fitzgerald <lfitz_1@...> wrote: Hi Tammy, Spencer had the same problem when he started to wear his DOC band. I was told the red spot on his forehead
