Silly question probably but why don't you ask Dr Frering?

Hi Ronke:

I think that it is definitely possible to have the lap-band port put on

your breastbone because mine is just below. Jessie would know for sure I

think.

Hi Janet

Not so silly a question...however, before I go to Lyon I would like to try to

find out if I can get the port attached to the breast bone regardless of which

band I have....when you have a 1 1/2 hour consultation its easy to make a 'rash'

decision (i.e.: which band will I have).

No, I meant ask him before you go .... I must be very easily lead (by the

nose?) as I just went with the flow, I didn't even question where the port

was fixed, perhaps I should've (worried frown ~).

Hi Janet

I doubt if I could get my message across over the phone....what with my

limited French and all....What made me think about port placement was that

whole stomach erosion conversation that we had when we meet. Having the lap

band with the port attached to the breast bone was something that I began to

consider...additionally, a new bandster, I can't remember who, has recently

posted how Dr Fox(?) had difficulty filling his band because the port had

twisted. It just made me think....

I think that was in Belgium (?) and that does worry me. You know I am

given to patting mine just to show it I care (I know .... I'm weird) well

now I'm doing it even more to see if it has changed in any way. Am I

becoming paranoid (nervous twitch)?

Hi Jo,

Glad to hear that you are home " safe " and the op was straight forward (this

time). I guess this op will leave us only slightly less sore than the

original band placement, seeing as the only difference is that the band isnt

being placed around the stomach but the port is still being attached as well

as the search around for the tube. I might be a bit optimistic only asking

work for two days off? I ask myself everytime following surgery, why did I

do this to myself - but that thought soon passes as the hope that the band

will help me transform myself takes over. Don't worry, you will be on the

path to success as soon as you get the right fill.

Take care,

(Tas)
