Simmon's Message of the Day

SATISFIED WITH THE NUMBER?

Do you weigh yourself before you go grocery shopping? You should, because if

you stayed the same or gained, believe me; you'll shop differently! You know

how sometimes you go to the store and just pop items in your cart? Not any

more! Once you see " the number " on the scale, you will not put anything in

your cart before reading the label twice, and that`s how it should be!

Sometimes you shop for little snacks to have around the house - you know,

just in case company comes a-calling. Your trip to " Supermarket Land " should

be all about you! Let the others who snack in your house buy their own

snacks to keep in their rooms. I mean it!

Are you satisfied with " the number " on the scale? If you aren`t, then you

and only you have to take charge of the food that surrounds you! That is why

I am so emphatic about you walking in that store with a grocery list. If you

are gaining weight, then you don`t want to buy foods that will help keep you

gaining weight, right?

Let`s start with the diet colas and regular colas. Diet colas are filled

with salt, which in many cases, can cause water retention. That could affect

the scale. So could all the regular colas because of the 11 teaspoons of

sugar in a regular sized can! What beverage helps you lose weight? Water, of

course! Buy a Brita Pitcher, and just change the filters every month. So

simple!

A sweet tooth can put on the pounds, too. Cookies, cakes, candy bars, and

other sugary delicacies should not be around to tempt you into getting off

your program. You get a certain amount of fruit you can eat every day, so

let fruit be your dessert for right now!

If you want to see those numbers come down regularly, you have to eat more

salads and vegetables, and watch that salad dressing that can add up to

hundreds more calories that you don`t need!

You are what you eat, and you eat what you buy! If you bring it to the

house, chances are that you will overeat and then get frustrated with

yourself because you gave in. I want you to stay on this journey, and it all

starts with programming your mind to make the right choices for your body!

Enjoy your Sunday, and make time for you today!

Love,

Some bits of good advise but ol should have done better research on

diet soda. He states they are " filled with salt " which isn't even close to

true. A 12oz can of diet Pepsi contains 35mg of sodium and I suspect all the

" name " brands are close to that. Diet Rite products even have ZERO sodium.

By contrast looking through my cabinet I find Hunt's spaghetti sauce at

650mg sodium per half cup serving, Healthy Choice country vegetable soup at

960mg per 15oz can and canned corn at 250mg per half cup.
