Guest guest
We just had it done less than 30 days ago. I was dreading it the same as you. She screamed when we touched her head, let alone put clothes on or off. It was 90% easier than I thought it would be. I would suggest you schedule it for a time when your baby is rested. Don't go during what should be naptime. Bring a bottle. Bring some really distracting toys. It took I think 5-10 minutes total from the laying of the first strip of " plaster " to when they took it off. If you email me, I can send you some pictures so you know what to expect. Oh yeah, put your baby in something that you don't mind getting dirty or just take their clothes off. Also don't wear your best clothes. I actually held her sitting on my lap while they did it, thank God. I don't think I could have held her down. The way ours was done was so much better than I thought it would be. I also brought my sister (her aunt) along for support & help. I saw all the horror stories about how awful it was, how long it took, etc. and was totally psyched out before we got there. In our case it was so much easier than I thought. Having to pay half of our copay for the helmet was a longer process than getting her cast. Good luck! Hope it's smooth & easy for you! mother to Savannah 8-1/4 months old Starband therapy since 7/26/
