Good idea. Currently I'm taking:

1. Cytoxan (cyclophosphamide)

2. SoluMedrol (IV pred)

In the past, I've taken the following for RP for at

least a year or 2 each: (not sure if you want these

since I'm currently not taking them)

1. Cyclosporine

2. IV immunoglobulin

Luv ya,

Connie R

For RP I take Celebrex for pain and folic acid (it goes with the metho) all

the others have been listed.

I think I feel better since I was put on the folic acid last week. The metho

side effects seem less this week.

please add Plaquenil.

Also add Prilosec: ENT believes that my trouble swallowing may acid reflux;

who knows if that's RP related.

RP drugs

OK, here is a list of the current drugs that have either been used or are

currently being used for RP.

Anyone want to add to this list?

Remember, we only want drugs that are specifically for keeping RP in

control.

Thank you,

I think we should add Celebrex because it is an anti-inflammatory and is

supposed to be the only one your can take with methotrexate.

What do you think,

  • 2 weeks later...

Elaine, this message is probably hopelessly old, but I'm on metho and I take

Arthrotec, The Celebrex nearly crippled me! My arthitis was fine until the

Vioxx stopped working. Dr switched me to Celebrex and within two weeks I was

barely walking - pain was horrible! I switched myself back to Arthrotec and

then told my Rheumy, he said Arthrotec was fine! Now I'm really confused,

should I not be taking Arthrotec? Celebrex did NOT work for me (Vioxx did

but you become immune after a while, at least I did). We're hoping that

after 6 mos to a year that I'll be able to take the Vioxx again - but I won't

ever take Celebrex again. My Dr did not mention any drug interactions.

Please advise, LOL, Judy O

Judy,

Arthotec and Celebrex are similar in that they both have a stomach coating

feature to them. They need that to go with the metho.

So don't be confussed, your doctor knows.
