Hi everybody,

So nice to feel home again, in the list. Not afraid anymore of being

sad after reading some posts. I love it ! I love you all !!!

>My desperation for the band

Dear Lois,

A lot of times, reading messages, I have felt so lucky the way things

have happened to me, for the band and in my life in general. Reading

your post about what you were able to do to have your band, how

embarrassed it probably was, is a great example of determination. I

admire you a lot for that too ! Will you ever know who your anonymous

donor was ?

You and were very courageous to go public with your stories.

>Should we stick to serious banding subjects and have fewer posts

>or should we have fun, let rip and have lots to read?? I am easy

either way.

Dear Aly,

So am I. Have you noticed that all the fun started after the bad news

about 's operation and 's friend stomach removal ? I

think we all needed to " breathe " a bit among more serious stuff. Why

not ? If it helps things going. I was so sad about Steph,

, Leann and Grace's decision to leave the list. And others

did, too, as we were 75 and now 63 or 64. Too bad !

>Tablets

Dear Janet,

After the operation, I tried to have my medication in liquid, or

suppository form, etc. I crushed or cut the tablets I couldn't

change. After a few months, I started to take them whole. (I had

to take a lot of medication for my back pain). Everything went well

until that evening when the tablet stayed stuck, probably in the band

portion of my stomach. I tried to drink and eat,to push it down.

No way ! It burned !!! I was almost panicking, but there was

nothing to do anyway. So I tried to drink, almost all night long.

I haven't slept a lot. The morning after, water couldn't even go

through anymore. I stayed like that until the day after, and

eventually called my doctor to have some fluid removed. After the

irritation healed, my band was too loose again.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr You see, you never know. It

can be OK for a few weeks, or months, and then one tablet stays

stuck. Better crush them or change to liquid ...

>Acid reflux

Woooooooow ! I didn't know that things like that could

happen. I have never experienced acid reflux - lucky me !

>Seattle meeting on Monday

I hope that we finally will have a chance to get a group picture of you

guys ! Have fun ! *Sigh of envy ...*

>Chat problems

Hi Steve,

We sometimes have problems with the Lycos chat. I will try and find

another place for our chats.

In the meantime, if you have problems in the chat room and leave it to

come back, do it with the EXIT button, otherwise you won't be able to

come back under the same name. And start the come back from the

beginning too. It happened to me last Saturday too, and I couldn't

come back from the Create a Room. I had to go back to the Lycos

homepage.

Too bad you weren't there ! We have missed you Steve !!!!!

>Chat highlights

I think that we should post some highlights from our chats, again.

As I said previously, I don't feel I can do that, due to the

language. Can someone do it ? It doesn't need to be always the

same person, and we can change every week, or even topic. We can

decide it at the beginning of the chat session, every week. What do

you think of it ?

Lots of love,

Hi Marina and All

Yes it is nice to feel that things are more comfortable in Bandland again,

I found it very upsetting to read so many insults flying back and forth,

particularly since I am so close to getting my band, I wanted peace and

harmony back in the old homestead.

Thank you for the advice regarding tablet medication, I think I will make

another appointment to see my Doc and get her to prescribe me some

suppositories or liquid medication as I don't want any problems.

I'm sorry I missed the chat last Saturday, I was busy eating my almost last

supper! Hopefully, I will be there next Saturday.

Love

Janet

Oh Dear , I know, I've got another one this weekend. My weight has

mushroomed in the last couple of weeks (moan). Still only two weeks to go.
