Guest guest
Wow, 3 days, you should be so proud of yourself. At this point your lungs have begun the process of regenerating themselves,a nd the cilia in your throat have begun to wake up and start working. DOn't be surprised if you start coughing as your body begins to clean itself up and try to reverse the damage done. It is doing that right now, as you read this. You should be proud of your body, and of it's amazing abilities, you should be proud of yourself. Love, Kimra Kai Partida A New Day!! Here it is---3:30 in the morning and I cannot sleep. Today is the beginning of my 3rd day NOT SMOKING! I did not sleep well last night but I know things WILL improve. (Again...I still have not killed anyone! LOL) I have not been very good following my WW plan. I mean, I have been eating "good" foods, but I haven't kept track of my points. Well---today is a new beginning!!! I went to Fitday.com and planned out my meals for breakfast and lunch. (Of courses waking up so early...lunch could be at 7:00 AM! LOL). I am keeping track of my points in the journal on that site. I think it will be easier as I AM on the internet ALL DAY! You see...my job is technical support for high speed cable internet! Therefore, I talk ALL day on the phone and keep looking at the internet! :-)This group has changed my life SO much---you have no idea! In addition to receiving FANTASTIC recipes, advice, information and support, I have also learned about some internet sites I would have never known about! Especially Quitnet.com and Fitday.com!!! If it hadn't been for YOU ALL, I never would have quit smoking when I did!!!! I also became introduced to WATP (thanks, Roxie!). This is BY FAR the best group I have ever known. I wish I could hug each and everyone of you and say THANK YOU. So this will have to do----{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{MY FRIENDS AT YAHOO WW SUPPORT}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}I have my yearly doctor visit on August 14th. Last time I was there I looked at the scale and then at the blood pressure machine (yeah...I have high blood pressure!). I said to the nurse, "I'm not sure which one of those machines I hate most!" I can't wait to tell my doctor I have quit smoking and HOPEFULLY the scale will be a little lighter than on my last visit!! I keep telling myself----baby steps, baby steps, baby steps.I wish you ALL a beautiful day and thank you again for being my online friends!!!!!Cindy in NCP.S. If you ever want to IM me, my AIM name is cndarella. (Sometimes it may take a moment for me to respond as I may be on the phone with a customer.) But please feel free to say hi. :-)
Guest guest
Congrats Cindy, You're doing so well, just keep focused, you are now a non-smoker (doing the snoopy dance for you). I had trouble sleeping for the first week or so when quitting but that will go away soon enough. Remember to take your Vit C and cut back on the caffeine (it will help loose water retention as well as prepare your body for a better night sleep) maybe go for a long walk to tire yourself out in the evenings? Hugs to you Kat 170.6/165.8/153.6 (10%) > Here it is---3:30 in the morning and I cannot sleep. Today is the beginning > of my 3rd day NOT SMOKING! Guest guest
Hey, thanks for the flylady heads-up! Sounds like something I need ... I have four kids ... oops, no that's five, including my husband, three teenagers and one ten-year old ... in a house that is just plain too small to have a place for everything and everything in its place, and an hour after cleaning it looks like a tornado whirled through. But I'm gonna try it! SharonM ----Original Message Follows---- Reply-To: Weight_Watchers_Member_Support_Group To: Weight_Watchers_Member_Support_Group > Subject: Re: A New Day!! You just keep taking those baby steps and see how far you go. June p.s. If you are wondering " What is a FLY Baby? " , it is a site for those of us who are organizationally challenged. Guest guest
Cindy - Congrats on 3 days! That's awesome! June - I'm a FLYbaby too! I've been 'fluttering' for about a year now. BTW - one of the stop smoking websites I mentioned the other day - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FLYingFreeSupport/ - is a FLYLady stop smoking support group! It was thanks to FlyLady that I found that site and from that one I found QuitNet.com. She always seems to know what I need! Trying to keep 'babysteps' in mind to take off the weight too. Take care, Leisha in Missouri Re: A New Day!! Way to go, Cindy! By any chance, are you also a FLY Baby? You are using our mantra 'baby steps" which is great! Guest guest
Actually, the biggest help with WW that came from FLY Lady is to give up perfectionism. That doesn't mean not trying to do the best, it's how we sabotage ourselves by thinking everything must be perfect to be good. How many times have we eaten something we shouldn't have and thought, "Well, I'll forget about being good today and be perfect tomorrow." Or giving up on the whole week so we could start again with a 'perfect' week next time? With FLYing, you just start over again right then and there and you don't beat yourself up about the past. And you do everything in baby steps. It's been very helpful.
