Guest guest
Earl, It's not the site (hospital). It's the Doctor/EP. The more experienced EP's with 200 to 300 PVA's under their belt, are more successful. There are many EP's that do less than 50 PVA's a year. Even with, the experienced EP. There is not a 100% gurantee. But you want to go with the the location with the most experienced staff. This goes for anything really. Guest guest
Earl, For the average Joe on the street, there is no book or map with who is the most experienced and or successful. It's being a member of a group like this or being educated to research major medical centers with teaching hospitals, that will help inform a prospective patient. For instance, where are the major research centers for AF? If you go the Mini Maze route, what major medical centers offer this procedure. How experienced are their surgeon(s). You have to do your homework. You have to educate yourself. Unlike some medical conditions, AF is not cut and dry and leaves alot to the patient and Doctor to do. Being a member here is an excellent firt step. Go to _www.affacts.org_ (http://www.affacts.org) for more information. Welcome Rich O
Guest guest
Earl, My memory was wrong on a couple of things: It was US News and World Reports that did the article. Stanford was # 11 -- not number 6. The provide their ranking analysis and process. http://www.usnews.com/usnews/health/best-hospitals/tophosp.htm Jean --- Earl Kehr wrote: > Yes, but from where did the rating come. > who says who is number 1 or 2 or whatever. > > > > __________________________________________________
