You might not get as dramatic results with an older baby, but I think

any improvement you get is worth it. If you do nothing he might have

problems with glasses and helmets fitting later in life. I would look

for an ortho/clinician experienced with older babies and go with an

active band such as DOC, Star or Hanger.

Oh and yes, we all feel guilty. My daughter's head grew extra fast

(born at 50% and now at 95+) so I know that is part of the reason she

had brachy, but also I just didn't know any better. I asked her ped

about the flatness at 2 mo and she said " don't worry about it " - such

bad advise, but I listened to it. But I thought I was doing the right

thing by not worrying unnecessarily. I should have been making a major

effor to keep her off the flat spot, but I didn't. I think the best

thing is to move forward and don't beat yourself up. Also I never

looked at my daughter's head from the top -which is the view that

really shows the extra width.
